Crank Brothers: new dropper post & pedals
With the Highline, Crank Brothers is presenting the successor to the Kronolog Vario seatpost at Eurobike. In addition, all Crank pedals in 2016 revolve around new bearings and seals.

At first glance, the Eurobike stand of Crank Brothers reveals old favourites: Eggbeater pedals, Cobald wheels and lots of mini-tools. But for 2016 there are radical innovations for the US parts, especially when it comes to the pedals. This is because all models - from the Eggbeater to the Mallet - will benefit from a completely new inner workings. Crank Brothers is now working with bearings from Enduro Bearings and plain bearings from the German premium manufacturer Igus. The Enduro Bearings are double-sealed for a long pedal life. A new seal is also used on the inside of the pedal, which should also easily withstand washing with a pressure washer. Together with the Enduro Bearings filled with 80 per cent grease, these measures should significantly increase the durability of the Crank Brothers pedals. Crank Brothers offers a five-year guarantee on all pedal models.

Crank Brothers Stamp: Flat pedal in two sizes

With the Stamp the Americans are launching a new platform pedal for rough use. It plays in the same league as the 5050, but is made entirely of aluminium. The Crank Brothers Stamp will be available in two sizes: the small one is recommended by the Americans for shoe sizes up to 42/43, the larger version from 43 to 49. The Stamp is available in two colours, black and red, and will cost 150 euros. The base is slightly concave and has 10 pins on each side. The small Stamp weighs 375 grams, the large one 405 grams. Two Igus plain bearings are hidden in the Stamp axles.

Crank Brothers Double Shot: new combination pedal

The Double Shot combines a flat pedal on one side with half a candy on the other. The combination pedal is primarily intended to appeal to bikers who also want to use their mountain bike to pick up bread rolls with normal shoes. The choice is yours: click in on one side or stand flat on the pedal on the other. The Double Shot weighs 395 grams per pair. The pedal body is made of aluminium. Two colours are available. Price: 89 euros.

Mallet E: new enduro pedal from Crank Brothers

Enduro riders take note: Crank Brothers has trimmed its successful Mallet pedal for enduro. The Mallet E is twelve per cent smaller and 50 per cent lighter than the downhill version. In addition to the click mechanism, two thermoplastic contact pads secure the shoe on both sides. The black spacer discs can be replaced (there are 1 and 2 millimetre thick pads) and adjusted to the thickness of the sole. In addition, six pins on each side hold the shoe in position on the pedal. 419 grams per pair, five-year guarantee and 165 euros.

Crank Brothers Highline: Hydraulic Vario seatpost with mechanical cable

With the Highline, Crank Brothers has presented the successor to the Kronolog telescopic seatpost to the public for the first time. The Highline lowers the seatpost by 125 millimetres hydraulically. However, the linkage of the 580 gram post is mechanical - via a Jagwire cable from below. This means that the cables can be routed inside the frame. Crank Brothers also relies on Igus plain bearings inside the new Highline post. The 400 mm long Vario seatpost will be available in diameters of 30.9 and 31.6 mm. The lowering is stepless. Crank Brothers offers a three-year guarantee on the new telescopic seatpost.

The Americans praise their handlebar remote as the "most ergonomic remote control in the world". It can be universally mounted up/down and left and right. It can also be fully swivelled and rotated via a ball joint so that it can be perfectly integrated into your cockpit.
