"Handmade in Germany": This is how Veltec has been advertising its high-quality spoked wheels for years. After all, it is not only good materials that characterise an excellent wheel, but also precise workmanship in particular. Veltec attaches great importance to this, as past wheel tests in BIKE have shown. The latest in-house model is the ETR Strike 29er wheels. The 380 gram aluminium rim is tubeless ready and can be adapted to all common axle standards using a plug-in system. The 25 millimetre wide rim is combined with Sapim Sprint spokes. The wheelset weighs in at 1490 grams. At the centre of the new wheels is the in-house 303 hub with 32 spokes. The wheelset is suitable for cross-country and all-mountain use. As usual with Veltec, the ETR Strike is available at a fair price: the 29er wheels are available from 485 euros.
Veltec is lowering the prices of its well-known and older models for 2014. The "Economy Line", which includes models such as the "AM Two 26" or the "AM One 29", will be 20 per cent cheaper in the shops next year. For example, the AM Two 26, which scored well in the BIKE test years ago, will now only cost 310 euros per set.
