With a 22 millimetre rim width, the Advanced X.22 carbon wheelset from Newmen weighs in at just 1269 grams, including rim tape and valves.

The cross-country/marathon application is obligatory for this lightweight and ensures sensational propulsion. We have the Newmen Advanced X.22 wheels Nevertheless, I rode them on a light trail bike and gave them a good thrashing over the trails. The conclusion after over 1400 kilometres: the rims are robust and the bearings run as smooth as silk as on the first day. To ensure that this remains the case over a longer period of time, the play must be carefully adjusted on the front and rear hubs. So far, only a small lateral runout of 1.35 millimetres has been detected on the rear wheel. However, the test phase did not end completely worry-free. There was a creaking noise, which could only be remedied by replacing the XD freehub body.
