There's a whiff of "Kill Bill" in the air when you read the name of the famous film samurai emblazoned on the rims: Hattori.

Some testers even claimed to recognise the theme tune from the Tarantino film in the freewheeling sound of the four pawls. Joking aside. The wheelset with its very wide yet lightweight carbon rims (32 mm internal width, 430 g) impresses with its high rigidity. It has 28 Sapim D-Light spokes and rims with a wide horn. The wheels are also available in 29 inch. During the SSES finals in Leogang, we were able to put the wheels through 9000 hard-earned metres in the bike park. In addition to a loosened centre lock fastening and minimal lateral runout in the rear wheel, the Hattori wheels show real taker qualities.

CONCLUSION Inexpensive carbon wheelset with a very wide and stiff rim.

PLUS Ideal for wide tyres from 2.3", light and affordable for carbon
MINUS Centrelock adapters loosen more frequently than 6-hole mountings

Weight 1582 g (without centre lock adapter)
Price 1199 Euro
