Large wheel test for 26, 27.5 and 29 inch wheels
Anyone who believes that only one diameter has been added to the wheel is mistaken. New concepts are entering the market. We tested ten wheelsets of all sizes in the lab and in practice.

26, 27.5 and 29 inches. With three wheel sizes, it is becoming increasingly difficult to cover the entire market in just one test. Our selection therefore focusses on particularly innovative concepts and solutions within the three sizes. In addition to the usual comparison test with all the measured values relating to the wheel, we also got to the bottom of various questions:

1. how much does the larger diameter really affect stiffness, inertia and weight?
2. can classically constructed wheels keep up with system wheels?
3. how do lightweight carbon rims perform in the puncture test?
4. do wider rims really bring advantages?
5. which concept increases the stiffness of large 29er wheels?
