There are two very different types of bikers. Some buy a bike off the peg and only replace parts when they break. The others are constantly on the lookout for high-end parts and scour the catalogues with sweaty hands, always on the lookout for new "must-have" parts.
Our wheel test is aimed at both. With prices ranging from 230 to 1250 euros for the set, there is certainly something for every taste. In our search for blenders and top parts, we subjected 20 wheels from three categories to an extensive laboratory test. Pleasingly, the competition is at a high level.

ATTENTION: CORRECTION
Measurement error: Better marks for some wheels.
In the big wheel test (BIKE 9/07), a measurement error occurred when determining the spoke tensions. The correction of this error results in improved overall scores for six wheels from the test field: The DT Swiss "XR 1450" is most affected by this correction: It now receives the grade SUPER instead of GOOD, moving up two grade steps. The Progress "XCD-SC" improved by one grade each to GOOD, the DT Swiss "EX 1750" and the Whizz Wheels "190 Ceramic" to VERY GOOD. The Spinergy "Xyclone Disc" and Hope "Pro 3 Straight Pull" received the grade SUPER GOOD.
