The new Scandium rims from wheel giant Alexrims weigh just 345 grams. This should make them one of the lightest models on the market and enable very light wheels for tuning fans.

The set assembled for us with Novatec hubs and knife spokes weighed just 1627 grams. On the first rides, in combination with the new Vredestein Spottet Cat 29 x 2.0 tyres, they accelerated rapidly. However, the stiffness left something to be desired. If you hit the brakes hard, the front wheel tilts slightly to the left.

As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
