How to close the quick release correctly
The quick-release must secure the wheels in place so that you don't ride around on the bike like a rubber cow. Only then will the stiffness and steering precision be right. You need to bear this in mind.

Correct installation of the quick release

1. before you fit your wheel, make sure that the quick release is correctly fitted. Are all the springs and washers where they belong? Are the quick-release skewers mounted on the correct side of the wheel?

Which side should the lever be on?

2. opinions differ when it comes to the right side: some prefer the uniform look when both quick-release levers are mounted on the left of the bike in the direction of travel, while others are concerned about burning their fingers on the brake discs and prefer to mount the levers on the right. However, they then get in the way of the rear derailleur on the rear triangle.
Our tip: It is easier to mount the disc on the left-hand side of the bike. When changing the tyre, simply wait until the disc has cooled down and only then change the tyre.

No plastic washers

3. do not use quick releases with plastic washers. With saddle clamps these are usually crushed and with wheels they can melt in the heat of the brake disc.

4 Correct installation: Firstly, you must insert the wheel correctly into the dropouts of the fork and rear triangle. To do this, do not turn the bike upside down and do not mount the wheels when the bike is hanging in the assembly stand. If there is no load on the bike, the wheel cannot be optimally centred and will be mounted incorrectly.
