Flectr Zero: Bike reflectors from Munich
Reflectors increase the safety of cyclists in road traffic enormously. The Munich-based company Flectr has developed a modern solution that can also be seen on sporty bikes.

Whether you're on a mountain bike, city bike or racing bike, cyclists are often overlooked when travelling in the dark. In addition to the right lighting, reflectors are intended to increase the safety of cyclists in road traffic, but the classic solutions have some shortcomings. This is because conventional reflectors, also known as "cat's eyes", look rather modest, especially on sporty bikes. They are also unnecessarily heavy and waste material and, to make matters worse, they constantly start rattling.

Kai Wiehagen and Jörg Neugebauer thought that this didn't have to be the case. They founded the company Flectr a good 1.5 years ago and have been working on a modern solution to the reflector problem with a small team in Munich's Glockenbach district ever since. Now they have presented their first product. The Flectr Zero. Weighing just 0.7 grams, the flags are self-adhesive and can be easily attached to the spokes. Flectr promises raw material savings of 90 per cent compared to classic plastic reflectors, and the look and handling also speak in favour of the new development. The small reflectors are also said to be resistant to dirt, water and other environmental influences, making them virtually indestructible.

The Flectr Zero is available in yellow and silver and is primarily sold via direct sales. However, the high-tech reflectors come at a price. Flectr charges 17.50 euros per set of four flags for one bike.
