Endurance test: Mavic Deemax wheels
In the large Mavic wheel range, the silver round wheels with Deemax print are the reference for extreme MTB use.

Specially designed for downhill riding with wide, stable rims and butted steel spokes. This made the first use in the Leogang bike park all the more disappointing. After a hard landing in the stone field (without a puncture), a spoke dangled loosely in the braiding. To our great surprise, neither the spoke nor the rim was damaged - the aluminium mount on the spoke body (circle) was torn off. Perhaps just an unfortunate isolated incident? Unfortunately not. The same fate befell another Deemax rear wheel during the enduro test. Disappointing. Because: A wheel is only as durable as its weakest link.
