The DT Swiss Spline One wheels have the abbreviation 1501 and are available from lightweight cross-country sets to enduro sets. But not for 26-inch fans, because the new Spline One armada is only available in 27.5 and 29 inches.
But even wider there: with five different rim widths, DT Swiss covers a range from 22.5 to 40 millimetres. With the widening of the aluminium line, the Swiss are following the general market trend: the wider rims increase the contact area and volume of the tyre, which ultimately provides more traction and comfort. But what about the weight? For example, the lightweight XR 1501 Spline One cross-country set in 29 inches only adds a mere 25 grams. On the other hand, the new rim is now 22.5 mm wide on the inside, whereas the old rim was 20 mm wide. With five different XM-1501 variants, all-mountain riders enjoy the widest selection of Spline One wheelsets. Starting with the 22.5 mm rim, which is already available, through the 30 mm version to the super-wide 40 mm rim width for plus tyres, which can unfold their full volume. The EX-1501 duo is responsible for tougher use on enduro bikes - with inner rim widths of 25 and 30 millimetres.
Cross Country/Marathon - XR 1501
All Mountain - XM 1501
Enduro - EX 1501
All Spline One rims have a customised rim design that has been adapted to the area of use. DT Swiss has saved a few grams on the new Spline-One 240S hubs, which all come with centrelock disc mounts. All Spline-One system wheels are held together by 28 reliable, triple-cross DT-Competition spokes. This combination and the tool-free maintenance have proven themselves over the years and promise a long service life. The new Spline-One wheels will be rolling into shops from early summer and cost between 939 euros (XR & XM 1501 22.5) and 1019 euros (XM 1501 40) as a set, depending on the model.
There will be an update in the production of the OPM O.D.L. suspension forks. With a new cartridge and a spacer system, the DT Swiss fork will be easier to customise in future. The prices and weights of the forks, which are available from 100 to 150 mm travel, remain unchanged. The OPM O.D.L. currently costs 969 euros and weighs 1585 grams (27.5 inch & 100 mm travel). In future, the fork will come from the factory in "factory tune", i.e. with two spacers. In total, the fork can be ridden with 0-3 spacers, i.e. four different tuning modes are possible. Although there is no explicit Plus version of the OPM O.D.L. fork, the vast majority of Plus tyres can be ridden without any problems.
The Swiss company also had a prototype of the new shock with them at the presentation of the Spline One wheels: DT has given its shock a new inner workings and a larger air chamber. Although this should make tuning a little more complex, it should be possible to get more out of it. A new feature is that rebound and compression work completely separately. The official launch should follow in the summer.
