In 2017, the Swiss wheel specialist launched a wheel series specially designed for e-MTBs. DT is giving the series an extensive update for 2022.

There are three models to choose from: the elegant HXC 1501 with carbon rims for over 1500 euros, the aluminium entry-level version H1900 for an affordable 400 euros and the high-quality aluminium wheels HX 1700 Spline (photo above). The aim of the update was to achieve an even more robust design without increasing the weight too much. Larger bearings, a reinforced and stiffer axle, higher hub flanges and the in-house ratchet freehub design, in which all teeth are always engaged for power transmission, are the new features. The two aluminium versions are approved for system weights up to 150 kg, the carbon version up to 140 kg. All are available in 29 and 27.5 inch (mixed LR set possible!) as well as with centre lock or 6-hole brake disc mounts.

Price: from 728 Euro

Adrian Kaether's favourite thing to do is ride mountain bikes on bumpy enduro trails. The tech expert and bike tester knows all about Newton metres and watt hours, high and low-speed damping. As test manager at MYBIKE, Adrian also likes to think outside the box and tests cargo bikes and step-through bikes as well as the latest (e-)MTBs.
