4 high-end wheelsets in tough laboratory and practical tests
The lightest MTB wheels in the world scratch the 1-kilo mark. We invited four of the most expensive and extreme carbon wheelsets to a crash test. Which one can take the most punishment?

CRACK! Carbon fibres tear with a crash, and at least 20 man-hours of work are devalued in a fraction of a second. It hurts, but it has to be done. Because light alone is not enough. Bike parts have to be able to take a beating. And whether the engineers' latest creations are strokes of genius or pipe dreams is fundamentally interesting in view of wheel prices for which you could also buy a used small car. That's why we go beyond the limit when testing, as this is the only way to find out what qualities the products have on the trail.

Our test field represents the spearhead of technical development!

We tested these 4 high-end carbon wheels - the entire test report with all the detailed information is available as a PDF in the download area below:

  • Bike Ahead The Sixspokes Biturbo RS
  • PI Rope Squirrel X.22
  • 9th Wave Martlowe SL 29 Ninefold
  • Syncros Silverton SL
BIKE AHEAD BITURBO RS - 3299 euros - 1247 grams.
