With the DT Swiss L2 Remote Lever the Swiss component manufacturer is presenting a new handlebar remote control that allows the suspension fork and shock to be locked simultaneously by pressing a lever on the handlebars, thus converting all power into propulsion in one fell swoop. Especially in the cross-country discipline, where sometimes (fractions of) a second can make the difference between victory and defeat, this can give you the necessary advantage in a sprint.
The function is not new, DT Swiss suspension elements with Incontrol damping have been adjustable from the handlebars for some time. In contrast to the two-in-one remote still available from DT Swiss, the new L2 levers are now located below the handlebars. On the DT Swiss L3 Remote Lever there is even a third lever on board for the quick activation of a retractable Vario support.
The new remotes from the Swiss company accommodate two or three levers at one attachment point, offering a compact and clean solution on the cockpit. The position below the handlebars allows the levers to be reached quickly and easily with the thumb. This means you don't have to awkwardly feel upwards to adjust the suspension - after all, any distraction is distracting in fast sections - and if you fall, the less exposed levers minimise the risk of injury.
Operation is extremely simple: the DT Swiss L2 Remote Lever allows you to control the suspension in three stages with a single thumb movement - provided the fork and shock offer this function. This is the case with the current DT suspension elements with Incontrol damping system. The remotes can be attached using the Matchmaker-X system or a handlebar clamp. The DT Swiss L2 Remote Lever will cost 59.90 euros.
In the L3 Remote Lever, DT Swiss combines the familiar L1 trigger for controlling a dropper post with the new L2 levers. The modular design also allows the third lever to be retrofitted at a later date. DT Swiss charges €99.90 for the complete L3 package.
