For the coming season, Enve is adapting the names of its handlebars and stems to the names of the wheels. The new models are no longer simply called Riser or Flat Bar, but rather M5, M6, M7 and M9, analogous to the wheels. This is primarily intended to make categorisation easier.
Of course, the Americans have not left it at that. Completely new shapes and new layups were developed for the new handlebars so that the optimum ratio of weight, stiffness and flex can be achieved for every area of use. More than 100 prototypes were produced, ridden and discarded at the headquarters in the USA before the final design could be handed over to production in the Far East.
The XC version will be called M5 in future and will be available in a width of 760 millimetres. The two M6 models have been developed for trail use. They are each 780 millimetres wide and available with a rise of 7 or 9 millimetres. Both models are clamped to a 31.8 mm stem. Incidentally, this will continue to run unchanged in the coming season.
The M7 enduro handlebars are a little tougher. The three different heights (10, 25 and 40 millimetres) are all a fat 800 millimetres wide and have a 35 millimetre clamp. A completely new stem was also developed for this, which is light, stiff and durable.
At the request of many riders, the M9 downhill handlebar still comes with the classic 31.8 millimetre clamp and a choice of 30 or 50 millimetre rise. The width is 810 millimetres.
