The new GDH Team bike grips from Ergo have already collected victories in a very short space of time: Two-time UCI Downhill World Champion, World Cup overall winner and E-Enduro World Cup overall winner. And now the Ergon MTB grips are also available from specialist retailers.

Man touches bike at exactly 3 points: Pedals, saddle and grips. Logically, all these contact points also have a certain influence on the riding experience - and in the case of professionals, even on a possible victory. If an athlete doesn't have a 100 per cent grip on the handlebars and doesn't feel completely secure with them, they may end up missing those crucial fractions of a second.

The new bike grip from Ergon, the GDH Team, is designed to further improve the balance between complete control and optimum damping in order to counteract signs of fatigue and loss of performance, even under the most intensive stress. The MTB grip is designed to reduce the notorious arm pump, pain and loss of strength in the hands and forearms. The design of the GDH Team grip was specially developed for extreme, gravity biking and offers a wide range of ergonomic features.

Ergon DH grips: Details decide the victory - or a great day on the bike

Each functional zone of the GDH Team DH grip is 100% customised to the demands of tough downhill riding. The grip is made from an extra soft GravityControl rubber compound, which is manufactured in Germany. According to Ergon, this should provide a particularly high level of precision, safety and control because it absorbs vibrations particularly well and the hand makes secure contact with the grip. Plus: the rubber has been tested for harmful substances.

Ergon MTB grips with multidirectional damping

The top of the Ergon bike grip is equipped with multi-stage, multi-directional texture blocks designed to provide optimum damping and maximum control. The texture is designed so that it does not collapse under pressure and therefore enables progressive damping. This means that the grip is pleasantly soft at first, but does not give way too much under increased pressure. The asymmetrical design with additional rubber on the top of the grip provides additional cushioning.

Finger boxes for maximum grip

Cushioning is one thing with MTB grips - good grip even in wet conditions is another and almost more important. The finger grip zone on the underside of the Ergon GDH Team grip was developed to ensure optimum grip and control. The individual finger boxes have therefore even been adapted to the typical hand-arm position during racing.

A bit like BMX grips in the 90s: Ergon grips have internal and external stoppers for the hand. The outer stop of the GDH Team is ergonomically integrated into the end of the grip and generates a slight counter-pressure - particularly important in changing conditions in extreme gravity use. The inner stopper serves as an intuitive orientation aid for the inside of the hand and facilitates the precise operation of shift and brake levers.

Ergon cooperates with the top downhill stars in the development of the GDH grips

Ergon is delighted that the GDH Team Gravity grip has already achieved success on the race tracks before its market launch. This is hardly surprising, as the new Ergon bike grip was co-developed by the best gravity stars, such as Valentina Höll, Troy Brosnan and Fabien Barel.

The top athletes have channelled their extensive know-how and experience from countless downhill races into the development of the GDH Team. The Ergon development team worked together with the DH experts to create optimum test conditions and obtain direct feedback. This allowed important details to be worked out that have made the bike grip a world champion gravity grip.

The GDH Team from Ergon is now available in the Available from specialised dealers and costs 39.95 euros.

It works perfectly in both dry and wet conditions. The comfort and grip level are unrivalled. Together with Ergon, we have succeeded in developing what I believe to be the best downhill grip on the market today. - Troy Brosnan

Valentina "Vali" Höll has shown impressive performances this season. She became UCI world champion, UCI World Cup overall winner and Austrian national champion in the elite women's downhill category. Also on board: the Ergon GDH grips. Henri Kiefer (18) also won the U19 Junior World Championship title in the UCI Downhill World Cup. Fabien Barel also won his overall victory in the E-Enduro World Cup with Ergon grips. And now here you come!
