Bike Ahead specifies a weight from 185 grams for the new MTB handlebars The Riser 25 and The Riser 30. Nevertheless, the carbon handlebars are approved for the toughest enduro and e-MTB use. The parts, which are handmade in Germany, are also designed to filter vibrations from the ground. We have all the information on the new Bike Ahead The Riser handlebars.

With The Riser 25 and The Riser 30, Bike Ahead presents two new MTB handlebars for bikers who appreciate both challenging trails and a light weight. Like all Bike Ahead products, the carbon handlebars are also manufactured by hand near Würzburg and combine the highest quality workmanship with a dream weight.

In addition, the new The Riser is designed to improve the riding performance of enduro and e-bikes thanks to its vibration-reducing properties. Thanks to an optimised stiffness ratio, the handlebars should not only offer the necessary control on radical descents, but also keep the rider's arms fresh for longer.

Handlebars from Bike Ahead: light and strong

Bike Ahead releases the new The Riser handlebars for use on heavy e-bikes and in enduro racing. The carbon handlebars are certified to the highest ASTM 5 test standard. The Riser comes with a standard 25 or 30 millimetre rise, 31.8 or 35 millimetre clamp and a width of 800 millimetres. The handlebars can also be ordered ex works in ten millimetre increments. Markings help with subsequent width adjustment.

Like all Bike Ahead products, The Riser comes unpainted and with a wafer-thin, transparent finishing layer. This means that the carbon surface and the laminated 3D logo remain visible. Bike Ahead lays each carbon layer individually by hand at its factory near Würzburg and is proud of its unique carbon quality made in Germany.

Apart from the pedals, the handlebars are the only point of contact with the mountain bike on the descent. When developing the new The Riser 25 and The Riser 30, Bike Ahead therefore focussed on control and comfort. The area between the stem clamp and the grips features an oval shape and a special layer structure. The optimised stiffness of the handlebars is designed to filter peak loads from the system and thus protect the rider from premature fatigue.

In in-house comparative tests on the test bench, Bike Ahead was allegedly able to halve the severity of incoming impacts compared to an aluminium handlebar. These tests also showed a comfort advantage for The Riser compared to other carbon handlebars. Nevertheless, at just 185 grams, the new handlebars from Bike Ahead significantly undercut the weight of most competitor products. The price for so many superlatives: 249 euros.
