Against thirst: With stem adapters such as the "Additive Bike Spacer One", the cockpit becomes a drinks counter in no time at all.

Thirst is worse than homesickness, they say. And from this point of view, many fullys are a picture of misery. The compact frames usually only offer space for a bottle cage. Annoying, because on multi-day tours the space in the rucksack is more than exhausted even without a water bladder. With the help of the Spacer-One adapter, at least one additional bottle can be placed next to the stem. However, the plastic part shakes so much on gravel that you always fear losing the bottle and holder. We mounted two bottles at the same time for riding the dust-dry Kokopelli trail, but we stabilised them with an aluminium bracket that we built ourselves. That worked quite well. An official two-bottle solution is due to be launched on the market soon.

PLUS Simple assembly, alternative to a hydration pack

BIKE SHARE Very good

As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
