Cross-country cranks made of steel
The steel cranks from Leipzig-based Sören Marx have a classic look and are made by hand. Technically, they are at the cutting edge.

Henri: The cranks used to be the business card of every mountain bike. It didn't matter what kind of bike you rode. The cranks had to be the very best. Colourful, sparkling, exorbitantly expensive. Nowadays, cranks only show the observer how many shades of grey there are in this world: Reinforced concrete grey, paving slab grey, mud grey. The occasional black colour of some cranks seems almost garish and trendy.

So now, after days of gruelling, highly creative thought processes, I have come up with this beautiful introductory text for the crank of the Leipzig-based accessory manufacturer "Unique Cycles". And what happened? Maker Sören Marx painted the exhibition crank in grey of all colours. Roofing felt grey, to be precise. Can you believe it! After all, this magnificent specimen is available in all, really all colours!

The part also stands out considerably from the rest of the cranks available on the market. The arms are seamlessly drawn from steel and are formed into their profile shape using 12.5 tonnes of pressure. A little reminiscent of the old Bullseye. Everything is made by hand. At 750 grams, the weight of the complete two-piece set (arms, axle, star, no blades) is limited. The price is also in proportion to the effort involved: 399 euros. The ideal cranks for titanium or steel bikes.

There is no website. But Sören is happy to receive mails to uniquebicycles@web.de
