White Industries is best known for its precision-engineered hubs, cranks and accessories. With the new Desert Sage Cerakote Collection, the US manufacturer is now launching a limited-edition range of selected components. According to the manufacturer, the colour scheme is inspired by the muted green tones of the California high desert.
The focus is not solely on the appearance. Following machining, the components are coated with Cerakote, a ceramic-based finish. It is said to be more resistant to scratches, corrosion, chemicals and everyday wear and tear than traditional anodising. After coating, the parts are engraved, assembled and inspected.
With this special edition, White Industries is targeting riders who want to build their bikes as consistently as possible. The matt ‘Desert Sage’ colour is designed not only to suit complete component sets, but also to be combined specifically with black, silver or other anodised parts.
According to Heather McFadden, Global Marketing Director at White Industries, the idea for the colour scheme came about whilst touring the Eastern Sierra. Dusty gravel tracks, sagebrush, hot springs and granite mountains inspired the subtle shade of green. Unlike eye-catching anodised colours, Desert Sage is intended to have a more understated and timeless look.
The limited-edition collection comprises several established products from the White Industries range:
| Component | Variants | Price |
| Hubs | CLD and CLD+ Boost, front and rear | from $288.75 |
| Cranking | G30 and M30 | 505 dollars |
| Tax rates | 34/34, 34/44 and 44/44 millimetres | 225 dollars |
| BSA bottom bracket | 29 and 30 millimetres | 191 dollars |
| Seatpost clamps | 30, 35 and 36 millimetres | 84 dollars |
| Top cap | Desert Sage | 29.75 dollars |
With the Desert Sage collection, White Industries is expanding its range, primarily by introducing a new finish. Technically, the parts are based on familiar components such as the CLD hubs, the M30 and G30 cranksets, and the BSA bottom brackets. Their particular appeal therefore lies in the combination of limited availability, a matt Cerakote finish and the modular design concept.
