The new XT groupset is a dream. The function of being able to shift down two gears at once, as was previously only possible with the XTR, is great and an advantage over all other gear systems.

Shift and brake levers can be combined into one unit using i-Spec. However, the assembly is a little tricky. The brakes are powerful, but not overly powerful and certainly not toxic. However, they were stable with the steel discs over the test period. The modulation is very easy to control via hand force.

CONCLUSIONThe XT is at the highest level visually, haptically and technically. Apart from the weight, the XTR groupset is a dispensable product.
