The OSPWX derailleur cage fits Sram Eagle derailleurs and should work with the original chain length. The large derailleur pulleys (14 teeth at the top and 18 at the bottom) mean that the chain is deflected less and the pulleys rotate more slowly, which means less friction overall. Tests at Ceramic Speed speak of savings of up to 2.4 watts compared to a Shimano derailleur pulley. If the chain is dirty, the effect should be slightly higher. Depending on the bike frame and position of the rear derailleur, it is possible that the fin for guiding the derailleur cable touches the carbon cage on the smallest sprocket (detailed image below). To avoid this, it helps to vary the chain length. In practice, the OSPW X rollers did an inconspicuous, noiseless job. However, we didn't notice any wow effect.
Anyone who spends so much money on a rear derailleur cage wants to pull out all the stops. The benefits are minimal, but the quality is impeccable with a four-year guarantee.
