1x11 gears: Simply ingenious or simply nonsense?
Three, two, one: Triple was followed by double, and now more and more often there is only one chainring on the crank. How many gears does a mountain bike need?

Sram's XX1-1x11 drivetrain shook up the market two years ago and divides the scene like hardly any other topic. Some find eleven gears and the tidy look, lower weight and simple operation great, others feel cheated out of their gear range and fine gradation.

But: More and more bike manufacturers are equipping more and more models with 1x11 and it seems as if the classic triple crankset is slowly disappearing from the market. That's why we're interested in your opinion on the subject of gear ratios.
