X-Fusion RV-1 DH in the double bridge fork comparison 2014
The "RV-1 DH" is X-Fusion's first attempt to gain a foothold in the downhill segment. The shiny silver fork is well made and visually eye-catching thanks to its screwed-on fork protectors.
According to the information on the standpipe, the "RV 1" had the correct spring in it. The sag was therefore a suitable 20 %. In the end, we rode it with the compression fully closed and 6 clicks of rebound fully open.Photo: Daniel Simon According to the information on the standpipe, the "RV 1" had the correct spring in it. Weighing over 3 kilos, the only steel suspension fork in the test is 300 grams heavier than specified by the manufacturer. Off-road, it impresses with its sensational response behaviour. Problem: the absolutely linear fork rushed through its travel far too quickly. Even at moderate speeds and medium-hard hits, it released a lot of travel and felt undefined. Even with the compression damping fully closed, it dipped low on steep
steep steps and completely bottomed out on waist-high drops with a flat landing. The influence of the HLR cartridge was far too small. Unfortunately, we didn't have a harder spring, but the sag was suitable at 20% with the spring supplied. We were disappointed with the fork.
