Every couple of years, the news cycle fills up again with the words: "Marzocchi is back" or "Long awaited...". And even now, the editor is inclined to present the new shock absorber from the Italian manufacturer with a view to the past. But that would do the brand new Marzocchi Bomber Air not fair - just introduced and we've already driven it.
The new shock is... The reservoir is slightly rotated in order to be compatible with as many frame designs as possible, from dirt bikes to downhillers. In addition to its looks, the Bomber Air damper impresses with its flawless function and easy handling.
The rebound (red wheel) on the 484 gram newcomer can be adjusted in twelve stages. The compression damping (grey wheel), on the other hand, only has two settings: soft or firm. This means that the setup can be done without tools in just a few minutes. The response behaviour fully convinced us during the first test phase.
The Bomber Air damper is available with and without a trunnion mount. This results in different installation lengths from 255 millimetres (75 mm stroke) to 190 mm (45 mm stroke) and with trunnion mount from 225 mm (75 mm stroke) to 185 mm (52.5 mm stroke). The price for the Marzocchi Bomber Air is 639 euros.
