Suspension fork duel: light versus heavy
Bantam versus semi-heavy - Wrong weight class? How do the lightweight enduro forks German:A. Flame and Maverick DUC 32 against heavyweights like Marzocchi 55 and Fox 36?

Before the fight in the ring, there is the weigh-in. If a boxer is too heavy, he has to go to the sauna. The experts call this "making weight". German:A. boss Thomas Kamm has probably forgotten his "Force Flame" enduro fork in the sweat house. At 1,670 grams, it is on a par with marathon forks such as the Fox "F 100" or Rock Shox "Reba Worldcup". However, instead of 100 millimetres, the BIKE test bench gets a whopping 152 millimetres of travel from the German fork. Maverick promises similar key data. This is where Rock Shox inventor Paul Turner runs riot. His double-bridge fork "DUC 32" promises six inches of travel (152 millimetres), the BIKE scales stop at 1,840 grams. The pure values are impressive. But ultimately it's the performance on the trail that counts. The test opponents for Maverick and German:A. are two forks that are set to cause a furore in the enduro scene: the slightly revised Fox "36 Talas RC2" and the brand new "55 SL ATA" from Marzocchi.
