Since 1995 SR Suntour already in the suspension fork business. After 25 years of product experience, the Japanese company also has a hot iron in the fire for 2020: the Durolux Equaliser. With 36 mm stanchions and 150 to 180 millimetres of travel, the new model is aimed at enduro mountain bikers and freeriders. The three different models with different damping cartridges should be available by the end of May at the latest.
Data on the SR Suntour Durolux Equaliser
For 29-inch bikes, the Durolux Equalizer provides 150 to 160 millimetres of travel. In the 27.5-inch version, the enduro fork even levels out rocky terrain with 160 to 180 millimetres of travel. At the same time, the magnesium casting and the hollow forged fork crown reduce the weight. Including the removable mini mudguard, the top model of the Durolux Equaliser weighs 2120 grams.
However, the centrepiece of the new SR Suntour suspension fork is the Equalizer air negative spring with a comprehensive adjustment range, which the engineers previously had to cover with three different negative steel springs. With the enlarged positive air chamber, the fork should also be even more finely tuned. The developers are also hoping that the revised PCS cartridge will enable faster spring travel recovery.
The fork is available with three different cartridges. The cheapest version of the Durolux Equaliser costs 639 euros (RC PCS cartridge). The big brother with RC2 PCS cartridge is available for 739 euros. The top model with R2C2 PCS cartridge is available for 759 euros. The main difference between the various models is the external adjustment options on the fork. Only the simple RC model does without the titanium axle and the hollow forged fork crown.
