Rockshox is launching the next generation of its ultra-light SID SL cross-country suspension fork. The fork, which has set the standard for XC performance since its introduction in 1998, is now receiving a comprehensive update. According to the manufacturer, the new SID SL is specifically designed to deliver elite performance on the most demanding XC race tracks.
The centrepiece of the redesign is a completely new chassis. This has an increased bushing spacing, which should reduce friction. In addition, the fork now offers increased tyre clearance for tyres up to 29x2.4 inches. The new DebonAir+ air spring is inspired by the regular SID and Pike and is intended to provide improved response behaviour.
Rockshox equips the SID SL with extended Flight Attendant features. These include a fork-only upgrade for hardtails and a customisable auto mode. This makes it possible to deactivate the "pedal" and/or "lock" positions. The firmware for deactivating the "Lock" position is already available, while the release of the "Pedal" position deactivation has been announced for the end of 2025.
Despite the new features, the SID SL retains some proven characteristics. With a weight of 1374 grams (weighed: SID SL Ultimate 110 mm 3P with uncut steerer tube), it remains the lightest 110 millimetre XC suspension fork on the market. The suspension travel option of 100 millimetres is also available. The fork is available with the Charger Race Day 2 damper in 2P (Open/Lock) or 3P (Open/Pedal/Lock) versions. There is also a version with an electronic Charger Race Day 2 Flight Attendant damper with open/pedal/lock positions.
Rockshox offers the SID SL in different versions: Base, Select, Select+, Ultimate and Flight Attendant. The manufacturer also provides a Charger Race Day 2 Flight Attendant upgrade kit. This allows existing SID and SID SL suspension forks from 2021 to 2024 to be converted to electronic damping. The kit has an automatic, three-stage compression adjustment with open, pedal and lock positions.

As part of the relaunch of the SID SL, Rockshox is also relaunching its Reba. The new Reba is designed to offer premium performance at an unbeatable price. Utilising innovations from the SID, the Reba Gold features an air spring inspired by the SID, isolator damping with XC tune and a slim 35 mm chassis. The price of the Reba Gold starts at 545 euros.
