Trail bikes want to be able to do everything. Up and down. The new Fox 34 with sophisticated Grip2 damping presented in April meets precisely this challenge.

The fork has to master tough climbs as well as the most demanding descents. The suspension elements are required to ensure the best riding comfort downhill despite the limited suspension travel. On the test bench, we were even able to coax 136 millimetres out of the 130 mm fork, and the stiffness is in a good range. On the damping cartridge, both the compression and rebound can be finely adjusted in high and low speed. Compared to the previous 34 with Fit4 cartridge, the Grip2 damper digests rough bumps and fast hits better, which is probably due to the greater oil flow inside. To protect the rider from mud, the fork was ridden with a mudguard for the entire six months. Of course, this also meant less dirt on the wipers. As a result, the Fox continues to perform at a very high level, showing no bushing play and no cracking noises when braking.
