The Fox 36 is the benchmark when the going gets tough. Long, fast rock gardens, deep drops, high jumps, even in the bike park, the Fox 36 always felt pretty comfortable, giving good feedback from the ground to the rider, standing relatively high in its travel and still remaining relatively comfortable. Whether it was a fun tour, bike park or racing, the Fox 36 could do it all, so it's no surprise that the enduro fork from California was voted one of the best in the world. BIKE suspension fork tests regularly in recent years received the top mark of "super".
So there was actually no acute need for a new development. But the prospect of making good things even better and thus offering even more performance obviously appealed to the engineers at Fox. The new Fox 36 is now ready for launch. The most significant innovation, alongside improved tuning options and better lubrication of the Fit4 and HSC/LSC shocks, is the new Float EVOL (=Extra Volume) cartridge. Compared to the old Float cartridge, the air volume of the negative chamber has been increased, which should lead to even better response behaviour, a more linear spring characteristic in the first quarter of the spring travel and more back pressure in the mid-travel range. In addition, the spring characteristic of the fork can be adjusted even better to personal preferences using spacers.
The new Fox 36 will be launched as Fox 36 Performance with Grip unit, as Fox 36 Performance Elite with Fit 4 or LSC/HSC damper and as Fox 36 Factory with Kashima surface and Fit4 or LSC/HSC unit, whereby the Performance version will only be sold to original equipment manufacturers and is therefore not available directly to end consumers. 26-inch fans can rejoice: the new Fox 36 will also be available with 1 1/8" or 1 1/5" shafts with 100 millimetres, 160 millimetres or 180 millimetres. In 29 inch, the 150 and 160 millimetre travels are available, and in 27.5 inch there is also a 170 millimetre version. The new Fox 36 is also available with 15 or 20 millimetre axles, with (110 millimetres) or without boost (100 millimetres). The Fox 36 Performance Elite will cost 889 (Fit4) or 959 (HSC/LSC) dollars, the Fox 36 Factory is available for 979 (Fit4) or 1049 (HSC/LSC) dollars. Prices in euros and weights are not yet available.
