The Fox Transfer has long had the reputation of being the most uncomplicated dropper post on the market. This has not changed, but the competition has also caught up in terms of susceptibility to defects. Fox has therefore completely revised the post for the current model year.
The new model now has up to 200 millimetres of travel and weighs from 495 grams without the lever. The Fox development department has placed particular emphasis on the low height of the post head. This helps to reduce the overall length of the post by 30 to 50 millimetres - depending on the size. The lower insertion depth of the post should be of particular interest to end users. This should also allow smaller riders to enjoy dropper posts with plenty of travel. The new Transfer is also lighter, with a weight reduction of 25 grams compared to the 2020 versions.
Of course, Fox has not lost sight of reliability. The inner workings should be at least as durable and the post even more service-friendly than before, as it can now be easily opened with a suitable spanner. A new remote lever, which moves under the handlebars on bikes with a single drivetrain, tidies up the cockpit and further reduces the system weight of the new Fox Transfer - by a good third of the weight of the previous 2x levers. The latter are still available.
