Lefty Max suspension fork maintenance
The Headshok "Lefty" accommodates its modern technology in just one standpipe. We show you the most important maintenance tricks.

The "Lefty Max" from Headshok is installed in Cannondale bikes. The difference to other forks: it hides its technology in just one leg. Maintenance is relatively simple - with a little skill, you can easily carry out the most important work in your basement workshop: To adjust the spring tension to your weight, you can preload the steel or titanium spring of the "Lefty Max". The wiper ring between the lower and upper tube prevents dirt from getting into the fork. It must be cleaned regularly. The needle bearings, which ensure a soft response, also settle from time to time. This reduces the suspension travel. You can get it back with a few simple steps.

UNDER TENSION

To adjust the "Lefty" to your weight, you only need to change the spring preload.

Step 1:

Turn the rebound knob all the way to the right and unscrew the fork cap. This works with the tool for the new Shimano bottom bracket (Hollowtech II).
