Gold rush: Manitou Dorado in a short test
The golden one ... which is actually black. The US label Manitou has reissued its classic Dorado.

The upside-down fork has always divided gravity bikers into two camps: haters and lovers. The haters disliked the strong flex of the fork, the lovers loved precisely this, because it allowed the fork to find its own optimal path into the valley and use the flex to nestle through the ideal line.

Where does the flex come from? In contrast to conventional DH forks, the Dorado lacks a bridge! However, the new Dorado aims to be stiffer thanks to fatter stanchions (37 mm) without losing its unique character.

There are three models: The Comp with steel spring, the Expert and Pro with two-chamber air spring, the Pro has carbon stanchions. Weights: 2970 to 3656 grams. The damping cartridges are also new.

Madman Clemens Kaudela has already flogged the Dorado over the monster jumps at Darkfest. That gives confidence!
