What steerer tube diameter do I need for an oversized head tube? BIKE provides the answer.
Question from J. Mahler: "Do I have to ride a fork with a 1.5-inch steerer tube in a frame with an oversized head tube?"
Answer: No, the accessories industry has already reacted. If you want to continue using your old 1 1/8-inch fork in the new 1.5-inch frame, you can get the Wan.5 adapter headset from Reset, for example. It connects the 1.5-inch head tubes with the 1 1/8-inch fork steerer tubes. However, if you are buying a new fork, you should use the same size as the frame, as the larger steerer tube diameters can withstand significantly higher loads.
