Endurance test: SR Suntour Epicon suspension fork
The inexpensive 120-millimetre alternative to Reba and 32 Talas impressed with its fine response and good usable suspension travel over 1000 test kilometres.

With an almost linear characteristic curve, the 114 millimetres squeezed out on the test bench can also be fully utilised. Thanks to the QR15 thru-axle and tapered steerer tube, it also feels very stiff. I also liked the smooth-running and easy-to-mount remote lever. Be careful when choosing your wheels! Only use hubs with a continuous 15-millimetre axle, otherwise dismounting your own Suntour thru-axle becomes a game of patience. A small preview: A new inner workings, a hollow-bored crown and a lighter axle will reduce the weight of the Fork to 1720 grams for 2012.

CONCLUSIONSimple, reliable fork with an almost linear characteristic curve. For a few
grams more you can save a few notes in your wallet.
