Endurance test: Fox Talas 160 RLC suspension fork
The 36 mm Fox with Talas drop is one of the lightest of its kind and offers convincing stiffness when the trail doesn't meet the flow-country requirements.

Directly after the fork test in November (BIKE 1/11->), I bolted the golden Kashima-coated enduro fork with a test rating of "super" to my bike. The 36 mm Fox with Talas drop is one of the lightest of its kind and offers convincing stiffness when the trail doesn't meet the flow country regulations.

The basic setup of the fork is rather firm with increasing progression towards the end of the travel - even with the compression stage fully open. Compared to a Fox 36 with 180 millimetres, the maximum travel is much more difficult to use.

Even after eight months of trail use, the Fox shines with impeccable function and smooth response. To keep it that way, the fork has to be turned upside down regularly to keep the foam rings lubricated. Apart from the now creaking steerer-crown joint, there is nothing to criticise.

ConclusionEven in continuous use, you can always rely on the 36 Fox. Only the creaking noises when braking are annoying.
