Eliminate clacking noises from the Lefty fork
Annoying clacking noises on the Lefty, which can occur during rapid rebound, can be eliminated. Cannondale recommends maintenance every 25 operating hours. It only takes a few minutes.

You should do these seven things to a Cannondale Lefty fork every 25 hours of operation:

1. let air out of the fork.

2 Depending on the Lefty fork type, remove the locking lever.

3. loosen and remove the large union nut using the Shimano bottom bracket tool.

4. push the Lefty fork downwards. The damper head is released, remove the two half rings that are attached to the side of the damper head (photo below).

5. hold the frame by the top tube and pull the front wheel down firmly and quickly several times as far as it will go.

6. do this until the total length of the fork is approx. 695 mm for 100/110 mm travel or 725 mm for 29er/120/140 mm travel.

7. reinsert the half rings. Fit/tighten the large union nut (max. torque 28 Nm). Air in the fork, done!

The instructions come from Larry Westney. He is Cannondale's expert for all types of Lefty suspension forks and knows every single component.
