BIKE helps: Advantages and disadvantages of the Fox Terralogic system
BIKE reader Christian M. wanted to know more about the Fox Terralogic system and failed to get advice in the bike shop. BIKE explains the advantages and disadvantages of the Fox fork.

Reader Christian M. wrote to us: "I find the Terralogic system from Fox impressive, but nobody can tell me anything about it. My bike dealers don't have the fork in their programme and of course don't promote the system. What are the pros and cons of the system in terms of weight, function and price?"

Answer from the BIKE test lab:

Terralogic has been part of the Fox programme for a long time. The system allows the fork to be adjusted over a very wide range. On the one hand, it can be adjusted so that the fork is extremely comfortable and sensitive. If you leave the adjustment knob in the open position, the fork works like a CTD fork would in descend mode. The further you close the adjustment knob, the more influence Terralogic has. Right up to a real "light switch feeling". This means that the fork only really opens up when you ride over a root the size of a euro. Any setting is possible between these two extremes. The new Terralogic also always has proper compression damping. The fork always compresses harmoniously without diving away abruptly when the valve opens. The general timing of the valve is now also designed so that the valve opens on the first stroke and then remains in the open position until there is really no more stroke. This is a great advantage in root fields, as the fork remains comfortable and open.

A Fox 32 F29 100 with Terralogic is 20 grams heavier than an identical suspension fork with CTD, remote lever included. Like a CTD version, it costs 899 euros.
