Rockshox is expanding its Ultimate series with the new Deluxe Inline damper (without reservoir), which combines precision, lightweight construction and control in a complete package. The Deluxe Ultimate is aimed at demanding mountain bikers who are looking for precise performance on technical trails without sacrificing efficiency. With numerous tuning options and revised damping, the shock is designed to offer an optimum balance between uphill capability and downhill performance.
One of the main innovations of the Deluxe Ultimate is the independent low-speed compression adjustment. This allows riders to adjust the damper performance precisely to their individual riding style and track requirements. In addition, the compression tunes are now lighter, which should allow an even more sensitive adjustment of the balance between efficiency and downhill capabilities. This is complemented by a separate low-speed rebound setting. The shock also has easily accessible levers for quick changes between an open and closed platform.
Rockshox has given the Deluxe Ultimate a revised bottom-out system. This prioritises more open compression damping and a more linear air spring feel. This should improve control in demanding passages and avoid unwanted noise. According to the engineers, they have invested a lot of time in tuning in order to achieve as similar a ride feel as possible between the different variants of the Deluxe - whether Ultimate, Select+ or Select.
Despite its compact design as an inline damper, the Deluxe Ultimate offers extensive customisation options. This is thanks to the DebonAir+ Linear XL air chamber, which, according to Rockshox, should enable the full tuning range and the same tuning potential as larger dampers. This allows riders to adjust the characteristic curve precisely to their preferences and the respective suspension.
Visually, the Deluxe Ultimate is presented in the new Electric Red design, which Rockshox is now introducing for all products (including all suspension forks) in the Ultimate series. The bright red colour scheme is intended to embody the speed, power and intensity typical of racing. Since 1989, red has been a defining colour in the Rockshox catalogue, from the iconic logo to countless world championship wins on the Boxxer downhill fork. With the Electric Red design, the Ultimate series continues this racing heritage and now offers the same high-performance suspension used by Rockshox's top athletes.
Rockshox offers the new Deluxe in three versions: Ultimate, Select+ and Select. While the Ultimate model has the most extensive adjustment options, Select+ and Select are aimed at more price-conscious riders who still want to benefit from the revised damping technology. All three variants use the same DebonAir+ Linear XL air chamber and should offer a very similar ride feel.
For the perfect colour match to the new Deluxe shock, all other products in the Ultimate range will of course also be available in Electric Red. In addition to the well-known suspension forks and shocks, the Flight Attendant products are also available in Electric Red
