For once, we'll reveal the test result right at the beginning: there is no such thing as a bad enduro suspension fork for mountain bikes! Even the cheapest test fork from SR Suntour works very well. Provided it is set up correctly. But that's exactly where the problem lies: tuning a modern suspension fork is now highly complex. On the Fox 36 with Grip2 cartridge, you can change six parameters to adapt the fork to your own riding style and changing terrain. There are only a few clicks between iron-like riding characteristics and the feeling of holding a jackhammer in your hand, even with the class leader from Fox.
But first things first. Our test judgement is made up of various factors. We determine the hard facts such as stiffness and weight in our BIKE test lab. And although all forks complete this test with at least a "very good" rating, the first major differences are already apparent here.
The complete comparison test of the ten Enduro MTB suspension forks can be conveniently downloaded as a PDF below the article. The test costs 1.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
You can find the complete group test including all data, points tables and the score overview in BIKE 9/2018. You can read the entire issue in the BIKE app (iTunes and Google Play) or buy the issue in the DK shop. reorder:
