ADP Engineering GmbH has decided on a voluntary product recall of the R.X375 and R.E375 models of the 2021 model year. Both E-MTBs have a Shimano EP800 motor in combination with an e*thirteen e*spec EP800 crankset.

In individual cases, material cracks occurred on the motor drive shaft. Laboratory tests by an external testing institute now prove that the above-mentioned cranks with the product batch number V40 in combination with motor shafts of the batches SK, SJ, SL and TA do not fit together perfectly. The error pattern has been proven in practice, particularly in corrosion tests. Under special and extreme load situations, material cracks can occur on the motor shaft and the shaft can even partially break off.

The drive shafts are checked in the master workshop at the company headquarters in Dieburg. At the same time, the existing e*thirteen cranksets will be replaced with new, optimised and approved e*thirteen cranksets free of charge. Customers who have registered their ROTWILD bike online will be actively informed. Non-registered customers are requested to send an e-mail to recall@rotwild.de stating their frame number, address and telephone number. The exchange will be carried out by the ROTWILD dealer. To ensure that this can be done quickly, affected customers should contact them and make an appointment to hand over their ROTWILD bike.
