MYBIKE presents new motors and components from various suppliers for e-bikes. The extended, smart system from Bosch will also be presented.

Valeo Cyclee - compactly packaged

The Valeo Cyclee drive system combines a 48-volt pedelec drive and a 7-speed gearbox in one housing. Gears are shifted either manually using a button on the motor control element or in automatic mode. We were able to test ride the system during Eurobike. With a maximum torque of 130 Nm, the motor develops powerful propulsion, but is significantly louder than conventional pedelec drives. Among other things, the integrated gearbox is probably responsible for the noise development. The system changes gears quickly and precisely - whether manually or automatically depending on the speed. There is a reverse gear for cargo bikes. www.valeo.com

Mahle X20 - Small and light

The new Mahle X20 low-assist drive system weighs just 3.2 kilos including battery and display. The motor accounts for just 1.4 kilos of this. The rear wheel hub motor delivers a maximum torque of 23 Nm directly to the rear wheel hub. This is comparable to a 55 Nm mid-motor. Due to its small and lightweight design, silent motor operation and technical data, the drive is predestined for use on gravel bikes, racing bikes and lightweight city pedelecs. Sensors for torque, speed, acceleration, temperature and cadence are designed to ensure a natural riding experience. www.mahle-smartbike.com

Bosch Smart System - Motors and more

Bosch is adding new products and features to the smart system introduced last year for the 2023 model year. The Cargo Line, Performance Line and Performance Line Speed drives are now part of the new system generation alongside the Performance Line CX. With a new Auto mode, the support of the drives automatically adapts to the ambient conditions, for example in headwinds or on inclines. Also new: a special cargo mode, a new system controller, the Intuvia 100 wireless display and batteries with a capacity of up to 725 Wh. The "eBike Flow" app has also been expanded to include additional functions such as an e-bike alarm. www.bosch-ebike.com

Shimano's EP6 and EP801 motors - Powerful and intelligent

With the EP6 and EP801 drive units, Shimano is presenting two new pedelec motors. The EP6 delivers a maximum torque of 85 Nm and masters the Free Shift and Auto Shift shifting modes of the XT Di2 and Cues Di2 component systems. The motor characteristics can also be adjusted via the E-Tube app. The EP801 has been updated as the successor to the EP8 (EP800). The maximum torque of 85 Nm is now available over an extended torque range. Like the EP6, the EP801 works with the Cues Di2 and XT Di2 systems and is compatible with new functions such as Free Shift and Auto Shift. In future, not just three but up to 15 individually adjustable support levels will be available on request. www.shimano-steps.com
