Ego Kit 3400 WRP RockerEgo retrofit motor in test
With the RockerEgo, Ego Kit is launching a new model variant with improved mounting for models from Liteville, Specialized, Bergamont, Scott, Rose, YT and Polygon. We have tested the drive.

We had the Liteville 601 pimped up with the most powerful aftermarket motor on the market: 3400 watts, up to 75 km/h fast - we quickly pushed the 601 to its limits. Playing with fire: At top speed, braking distances can be too long and gravel bends can be uncomfortably tight. We admit it openly: We also tried out technical trails - and quickly gave up. As soon as you twist the throttle too much, you shoot through the trees like a chainsaw gone wild. Long tours, on the other hand, work very well. If you fine-tune the motor (¼ throttle), you can happily pedal along. The large battery can then cover up to 2000 metres. To comply with the law, you can only ride uphill on private roads and downhill with the system switched off. The motor can overheat under full load. Overload protection then switches the motor off for a few seconds.

Tip: A bike with a long wheelbase, so it's better to choose a frame size larger. Or go straight for a downhiller.

Test summary of the Ego Kit 3400 WRP RockerEgo

Ego-Kit riding needs to be learnt. The 3400 W power unit pulls away so powerfully that you are constantly on the rear wheel and always at the limit. The engine is too powerful for tight, technical courses, it wants to rev and deliver power - trees like to get in the way. On forest roads, the braking distances at 70 km/h can be extremely long. An enormous responsibility. Definitely demanding - bike park only. Taboo on trails and elsewhere.

Advantages and disadvantages
