Brose brings its own battery and displays
Until now, bike manufacturers who wanted to use a Brose drive had to painstakingly put together their package. Now Brose is presenting a complete system consisting of motor, slim battery and display.

E-MTBs with a Brose motor have always had one special feature: every bike was different. This is because e-bike manufacturers had to find a suitable battery and display from third-party suppliers. Now Brose is presenting its own Intube battery and various display variants, thus taking the step towards becoming a full-service provider. This makes it much easier for bike manufacturers to offer a bike with a Brose drive. It also means that service is provided from a single source. The possibility of a customised solution, such as the Specialised with its Levo continues to exist.

The battery from Brose

Brose Battery 630 - the capacity is already in the name. With 630 watt hours, the new energy source is located next to the new Bosch Powertube 625 in good company. The shape is also very reminiscent of its Bosch counterpart. At 3.8 kilos, the Brose battery with aluminium body is slightly heavier than the large Powertube (3.5 kg), but lighter than the solid aluminium battery (4.2 kg) from industry giant BMZ, which is used in the Nox-E-MTBs is stuck.

The displays from Brose

Brose has three display variants for e-bikes in its programme. From small and minimalist to large and comprehensive. The Berlin-based company has placed particular emphasis on simple operation and good readability. All control units are Bluetooth-capable so that they can provide networking at various levels in the future. The details are currently being finalised.

The Display Remote completely dispenses with a digital display and enables a very minimalist cockpit on e-mountainbikes.

The large cutlery set goes by the name of Display Central. The large screen sits above the stem and is controlled via the Display Remote.

Even on his very first tour, he focussed on single trails - and even after more than 30 years in the saddle of an MTB, these are still the quintessence of biking for him. He spent his youth competing in various bike disciplines and later his cycling career was characterised by years as a riding technique coach. Professionally, the experienced test editor now focusses on e-mountainbikes. In recent years, the qualified sports scientist and trained journalist has tested over 300 bikes and more than 40 different motor systems in the laboratory and in practice.
