Single test: BBB Powerline chain
A chain that lubricates itself? BBB promises this with a special coating. According to BBB, you only have to give the drivetrain a pack of oil every 1500 kilometres.

Not quite! Although the nickel chain with open links initially ran smoothly during our extreme test in tough winter conditions, after 300 kilometres we had to reach for the oil. Of course, the conditions with salt, wetness and mud were a real challenge. But that was intentional. The shifting function remains at XT level. Compared to a conventional chain, the Powerline runs slightly better, but also costs more. CONCLUSION: runs slightly better than a standard chain, but also needs maintenance.
