With the new Kiox 500 display, Bosch is adding a 40 percent larger display to the familiar Kiox 300 colour display for better readability. It is designed to show data in a larger format and, not least, make navigation via the Kiox display more user-friendly. Acoustic signals should also help with this. As usual with Bosch, the 2.8-inch display is not operated by touch but via the remote on the handlebars and the app.
The new Bosch Purion 200 display, on the other hand, is limited to the essentials. As a small colour display, it offers the most important basic information such as speed, range and speedometer functions. Nice: Despite the minimalist approach, the battery level can also be read as a percentage. This could make the new Purion 200 display an attractive alternative to the previous LED remote. The new displays should be available from summer 2023, prices are not yet available.
Fans of the dual-battery system can finally breathe a sigh of relief: the small add-on battery for the Bosch Smart System is coming and will be called Power Pack 400 Frame. Manufacturers can also use it as the main battery, but for eMTBs it is particularly interesting as a second battery. The battery offers 400 watt hours and will be available from autumn.
If an additional 250 watt hours is enough for you, you can fall back on the handy Bosch PowerMore 250, which was introduced with the Performance Line SX e-bike motor. It fits in the bottle cage and is simply connected to the bike's charging port. Incidentally, this also works with older bikes with Smart System and CX if the charging socket has been replaced beforehand.
The Compacttube, also presented with the SX drive, could make particularly lightweight bikes possible in the future, even with a conventional CX drive; on the other hand, e-bikes with the new SX drive and large batteries are also conceivable. From the drives to the batteries to the displays, all Smart System components should be able to be combined with each other in the future.
