From 4 to 6 September, the slopestyle event will take place at the Greenhill Bikepark in Schmallenberg, before continuing at the Bike Republic Sölden in Austria from 9 to 13 September.

The Swatch Nines MTB 2025 presents itself in a completely new format and promises to be the most diverse and longest MTB spectacle in the history of the event series. For the first time, the event will take place at two different locations and will extend over a total of ten days. The organisers have planned two consecutive stops for September 2025: First at the Greenhill Bikepark in Germany (4 to 6 September) and then at the Bike Republic Sölden in Austria (9 to 13 September).

Two locations with different characters

This year's edition of the Swatch Nines MTB will feature a double format that combines two of Europe's hottest MTB hotspots. The first part of the event will take place from 4 to 6 September at Greenhill Bikepark in Germany. A three-day big air jam session will take centre stage here, where the invited riders can show off their most spectacular tricks. After this kick-off, the entire Nines crew will move south to Austria, where the event will continue at the Bike Republic Sölden from 9 to 13 September. In Sölden, the field of participants will be significantly expanded and the sessions will take place over five days. According to the organisers, both locations will have their very own character and together form the largest and most diverse bike set-up ever seen at the Nines.

Integration into local festivals

A special feature of this year's event is its integration into local festivals at both locations. In Greenhill, the BYND The Hill Festival will run parallel to the Swatch Nines MTB from 5 to 6 September. The highlight for spectators is the public session on Saturday 6 September, where visitors can see the pros live in action. After the move to Sölden, the event will join the BRS Festival, which takes place from 12 to 14 September. There will also be special programme items for the public: a Night Shoot is planned for Friday, 12 September, and another Public Session will take place on Saturday, 13 September. Access to all Swatch Nine public sessions is free of charge for festival ticket holders. This integration into existing festivals should increase the reach of the event and give more mountain bike fans the opportunity to experience the world-class athletes live.

Become A Nine: Opportunities for up-and-coming talent

With the "Become A Nine" contest, the event is once again offering up-and-coming talents the opportunity to secure one of the coveted starting places this year. Three riders have already qualified at the BYND pre-event on 12 July in Greenhill: Marlon Katzke, David Zimmermann and Justus Imhorst. The online contest will begin on 24 July 2025 for all other young hopefuls. The exact conditions of participation and further information will be published shortly on the official website thenines.cc. The contest has established itself as a springboard for young talent in recent years and offers the unique opportunity to ride side by side with the best mountain bikers in the world.

Creative opportunity for photographers

In addition to the sporting aspects, the Swatch Nines MTB 2025 also offers a special opportunity for creative minds in the field of photography. With the "Become A Nine: Photography" competition, the organisers are looking for photography talents who have a unique eye for action shots and want to visually document the event in Sölden. The competition is open worldwide and has no age or experience restrictions. Both aspiring creatives and experienced storytellers can submit their work. The detailed conditions of participation will be published shortly on the thenines.cc website. This initiative emphasises the holistic approach of the event, which focuses not only on sporting excellence but also on the creative aspects of mountain biking.

I'm really looking forward to being part of the Swatch Nines again! Meeting all my friends and riding for a whole week, experimenting, taking the sport further and pushing our riding to the next level together - it's going to be awesome. - Peter Kaiser, slopestyle pro

The Swatch Nines philosophy

The Swatch Nines see themselves as a friendly antagonist to the world of competitive sport. With their unusual formats and locations, the events not only attract top athletes, but also filmmakers and photographers who capture the creative spirit of the events. The focus is not on the idea of competition, but on the celebration of human talent and creativity, which is reflected in the untamed core of action sports. The event series is constantly evolving and adapting to the needs of the culture. It now encompasses three key disciplines of action sports: snow, surf and bike. This versatility emphasises the holistic approach of Swatch Nines, which aims to bring together different facets of action sports and provide a platform for innovation and progression.
