After a five-year break, the biggest urban MTB slopestyle event in the world is returning to Nuremberg city centre. The 15 best riders from the FMB World Tour will compete in the Franconian metropolis. The list of riders for the Red Bull District Ride 2022 on 2/3 September has now been finalised.

Favourites for Johansson & Rogatkin

Swedish high-flyer Emil Johansson is currently rushing from victory to victory. He will also be at the start in Nuremberg, as will Nicholi Rogatkin, who will be competing with his legendary 1440 (click here for the video) claimed victory in 2017. But the world number two, Erik Fedko, also wants to perform in front of his home crowd. He has a very special connection to this event. In 2017, he competed as a wildcard starter and promptly catapulted himself into the elite class of MTB slopestyle sport with a fifth place. This year, YouTube star Lukas Knopf was able to secure a wildcard and will be the second German to take part in the contest.

Alongside Rogatkin, Johansson and Fedko, Frenchman Timothé Bringer is also one of the hot favourites. He is currently ranked third in the world. His compatriot Tomas Lemoine and Poland's Dawid Godziek are also among the extended circle of favourites for the District Ride 2022.

80,000 spectators expected at the District Ride 2022

With up to 80,000 spectators, the Red Bull District Ride is the biggest urban MTB slopestyle event in the world. After 2005, 2006, 2011, 2014 and 2017, the District Ride for the sixth time in 2022 will take place. The winners of the mega event are freestyle legends Aaron Chase (USA), Cam McCaul (USA), Sam Pilgrim (GBR), Brandon Semenuk (USA) and Nicholi Rogatkin (USA).

With lift to the ramp

At the town hall, the riders take the lift to the huge ramp. The route from the Kaiserburg to the Big Air Jump on the main market demands everything from the riders. In five sectors - known as districts - riders can expect not only freeride and slopestyle elements, but also skate park elements with big jumps, drops and step-downs. The Red Bull District Ride is definitely a highlight in every athlete's calendar and is always the scene of never-before-seen tricks, so-called "Worlds Firsts".
