Maintenance: Rock Shox Reverb dropper post
The Rock Shox Reverb is the most commonly installed dropper post and impresses with its ease of use. To keep it that way, it needs to be serviced from time to time. We show you how to do it.

Do it yourself: Just as with suspension forks or shocks, the manufacturer also specifies certain service intervals for a telescopic seatpost, which should be observed to maintain the warranty. For the Rock Shox Reverb, this service interval is 50 hours. However, if it is particularly dusty or muddy on tour, the dropper post can buck even before this. Regular servicing is necessary to extend the service life and ensure smooth operation over a long period of time. Rock-Shox distributor Sport Import charges around 83.30 euros for this service, including materials. However, if you have skilful hands, you can do it yourself with the service kit for 39.90 euros and a few special tools. With our detailed instructions, the steps should be no problem. If you want even more detailed information, you can watch the Rock Shox service video. We also show you how to correctly bleed the remote lever line.

1. unscrew the valve cap and use a screwdriver to let the air out. If the valve has not lost any air during use, the valve insert does not need to be replaced during servicing.

1. soak the new foam ring with 2.5W oil and insert it at the top and the O-ring at the bottom. Then press the new dust seal into the top of the union nut.

The lowering function of the Reverb is hydraulically controlled. If there is air in the system, the support can only be lowered slightly and the control button no longer returns automatically. These steps will make it air-free again. This is how it works:

Turn the speed control setting to the slowest position (largest chamber volume).
