How twist locks on MTB shoes last longer

Twist fasteners are practical - but susceptible to dirt. Regular care can significantly extend the service life of Boa and co. We show you how.

With these six care tips, the twist locks from Boa & Co. on your MTB shoe will last longer:

1. clean the twist locks and pull cords with a small brush and clean water. A spray bottle is very helpful for this.

2 Pull the cable out of the spool and, if possible, release it from the opposite suspension.

3. spray the cables and the coil inlets with a little silicone spray for silky smooth running. Alternatively, you can also use Ballistol universal oil, for example.

4 Now wind the rope onto and off the spool several times by turning the Boa fastener. Then thread the pull rope back into the suspensions.

5 If the system still does not run smoothly, you can open the dial with the spanner (normally supplied). However, a 6mm Torx also fits here.
